What is Tawjeeh?

Tawjeeh centres are authorised by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) to educate workers about their rights and obligations under UAE labour law, and to witness the signing of employment contracts. For many work-permit transactions, a Tawjeeh session is mandatory before the permit is issued or renewed.

When is Tawjeeh required?

• New employment contracts for skill levels 3–5 workers
• Contract renewals and amendments
• Work permit transfers between employers
• Certain labour card and quota transactions

What happens in a session?

The worker watches a short orientation (available in multiple languages) covering wages, working hours, leave, end-of-service benefits and dispute channels — then signs the MOHRE contract electronically with fingerprint verification.

Fees and timing

Tawjeeh service fees are modest (typically AED 55–150 per transaction depending on type) and sessions take 20–40 minutes. Booking ahead avoids queues.
